Venus Calling.
It was past midnight and I needed sleep,
I cut my engine and the night was deep,
Rolled down the window and I felt a chill,
I saw the lights above the Dwyer Hill.
Calling, so out of my car I climb,
They've come here for me this time.
And a ship made of crystal drifts down,
To a field by the edge of the town,
And a portal of ice opens wide,
And she floats on a platform inside,
And I'm drawn to the light in her face,
Through these lines of magnetic embrace,
And I stand in an alien place.
The walls are featureless, the room is round,
I cannot move and yet I am not bound,
They keep their distance and this much is clear,
I am not frightened, it is I that they fear.
Calling, and then she appears to me,
A beauty so sheer is she.
"You've no future unless you desist",
Says the girl with a platinum twist,
"And you've really no right to exist,
Cause you give and you get by the fist,
It's destruction you'll bring upon all,
of the life on this planetary ball,
And the sun and the system will fall."
And I say,
"I may be a killer, evolutionary fool,
I may be death's angel,
Maybe stupid, maybe cruel,
I may lust for power,
Kick a wheel and break a gear,
I may bring all evil,
But I seek love..."
Man must free man,
God will not come from space,
Man must free man.
Woman must rise,
Woman must take her place,
Woman must rise.
And the images spill from my mind,
As I twist through a slipstream of time,
From a place in a cave carving bones,
To a pen marking paper with poems,
And I know now she's ready for this,
Waking love through the power of bliss,
Save the world with a singular kiss.
